    Rotary dampers utilize the viscosity of high-quality silicone oil inside the housing. When the shaft rotates, the oil is forced through narrow internal passages. The resistance generated by this oil viscosity acts as a cushion, ensuring the lid or door closes slowly and silently.

    Yes, absolutely. We understand that different applications require different closing speeds. We can customize the internal oil viscosity and piston structure to achieve specific torque ranges, allowing for customized closing times such as "fast initial movement with a slow final close" or a consistently slow closing speed throughout the entire cycle.

    Since rotary dampers rely on silicone oil, temperature does affect viscosity. Generally, higher temperatures decrease torque (faster closing), while lower temperatures increase torque (slower closing). However, our dampers are engineered with premium, temperature-stable silicone oil to ensure reliable performance across a wide range of operating environments. For extreme conditions, we recommend individual evaluation.

    Torque selection primarily depends on the weight and dimensions of the moving part (e.g., the toilet seat cover or washing machine door). If the torque is too low, the lid will close too fast; if it is too high, the lid may not close properly or could damage the hinge.
