PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS

HIGHLIGHT 1 — ±60° bevel in 5 axes. The taper problem, solved.

Traditional waterjet cutting produces a V-shaped taper — the jet widens as it exits the material, so the bottom of the cut is wider than the top. On thick material, that taper can ruin a part. The only fix used to be secondary grinding. The HLWJ-4020 tilts the cutting head up to 60 degrees in real time while the CNC compensates the tool path. The result: straight vertical edges from top to bottom, no taper. Or, when you want a bevel, the head cuts it directly — no re-fixturing, no separate operation.

This is not a 3-axis machine with a manual tilt head. All five axes move simultaneously under CNC control. You program a 45-degree chamfer on a steel plate and the head tracks the angle through the entire cut path. Straight surfaces, conical surfaces, circular surfaces, grooves, chamfers — all in one setup.

HIGHLIGHT 2 — No heat. Period.

Laser and plasma cut by melting the material. That creates a heat-affected zone. Steel hardens at the edge. Thin material warps. Coatings burn off. You deal with discoloration, micro-cracks, and dimensional change — then spend time grinding the HAZ away. Waterjet cuts cold. A high-pressure stream of water mixed with garnet abrasive erodes a clean line through the material. No heat input. No structural change at the cut edge. The part comes off the table exactly as it goes on — same hardness, same flatness, no discoloration.

For aerospace parts, medical components, and precision tooling, that is not a nice-to-have. It is a requirement.

HIGHLIGHT 3 — One machine. Steel, stone, glass, rubber. Same setup.

Most cutting machines are material-bound. A laser cuts steel but struggles with reflective aluminum. A plasma cutter handles thick plate but cannot touch glass. A bridge saw cuts granite but is useless on metal.

The HLWJ-4020 does not care what you load onto the table. The abrasive water jet cuts anything softer than the garnet — and garnet is harder than virtually everything.

Materials proven on this machine: -Metals: Steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium -Stone: Marble, granite, ceramic -Brittle: Glass, tile -Soft: Rubber, foam, gasket material, composites

A shop that handles mixed-material jobs — say, steel brackets with stone inlays, or ceramic tiles with metal trim — does not need separate machines for each material. One waterjet does the whole job.

HIGHLIGHT 4 — 0.5–1.0mm kerf. More parts from every sheet.

The width of the waterjet stream is typically 0.5 to 1.0 millimeter. Compare that to: -Plasma: ~3–5mm kerf -Saw blade: ~3–5mm kerf -Laser: ~0.2–0.5mm (but to thin metal)

On expensive material — titanium sheet, thick granite slab, specialty glass — that narrow kerf translates directly to material savings. Nest parts closer together. Get more finished pieces from the same raw sheet.

Combined with ±0.1mm line accuracy, you are cutting parts that go straight to assembly. No secondary sizing. No hand-finishing the edges.

HIGHLIGHT 5 — Cut recovery. If the jet stops, you do not start over.

Waterjet cutting is not instant. A complex part in 50mm granite can run for an hour or more. If the power flickers mid-cut — or the garnet hopper runs empty — the HLWJ-4020 remembers exactly where it stopped.

The Z axis retracts automatically between pierces. When you resume, the head returns to the last pierce point, re-establishes the jet, and continues the cut path. You do not scrap the workpiece. You do not re-zero. You do not start the program from line one. This is one of those features that does not matter until it matters. The first time it saves a half-cut slab worth a few hundred dollars, it pays for itself.

HIGHLIGHT 6 — Servo-driven, sealed against the mess.

Waterjet cutting generates wet abrasive slurry — water, garnet, and pulverized material spraying around the machine. That environment kills unprotected drive components. The HLWJ-4020 uses servo motors with linear sledges and helical rack-and-pinion drives — all sealed against water, dust, and grit. The drive system delivers rapid, smooth axial movement even after years in a wet cutting bay.

Programmable Z-axis height means the head lifts between pierce points. No dragging the nozzle across the workpiece. No accidental
