Material of Construction​

Carbon Steel TanksThe most common type for non-corrosive liquids (e.g., petroleum, diesel, water). They are cost-effective, high-strength, and suitable for ambient-temperature storage. Carbon steel tanks may require coatings (e.g., epoxy) or liners for mild corrosion protection.
Stainless Steel TanksIdeal for corrosive liquids (e.g., chemicals, food-grade oils, pharmaceuticals) and high-temperature applications. Alloys like 304 or 316 stainless steel resist rust and chemical degradation, making them compliant with food safety and pharmaceutical regulations (e.g., FDA standards).
Atmospheric TanksVertical Cylindrical TanksThe most widespread design, with a cylindrical body and flat/rounded roof. They maximize storage capacity in space and are easy to fabricate
Horizontal Cylindrical TanksMounted on supports, with a horizontal orientation. They are ideal for small capacities, low-clearance areas (e.g., under buildings), or
Pressure TanksDesigned to handle internal pressures above atmospheric (≥ 15 psi gauge), used for volatile liquids or gases (e.g., propane, liquefied natural gas (LNG)). They feature thick walls, sealed roofs, and pressure-relief valves to prevent overpressurization.
Floating Roof TanksA subtype of atmospheric tanks with a roof that “floats” on the surface of the stored liquid (e.g., gasoline, jet fuel). This design minimizes vapor loss (reducing emissions and fire risk) and prevents air from entering the tank, which could contaminate the liquid or cause oxidation.
