The Van de Graaff Generator is a precision-engineered electrostatics demonstration apparatus designed for effective teaching and experimental study of static electricity and electrostatic charge generation. The system is driven by a mains-operated constant speed electric motor, securely housed within a fully earthed metal casing to ensure operational safety and long-term reliability. The motor drives a high-quality rubber belt running over two insulated pulleys, one featuring an aluminum surface and the other a polyethylene surface, enabling efficient charge transfer and consistent electrostatic performance.

For user convenience and protection, the front panel is equipped with a panel-mounted fuse and a clearly accessible ON/OFF switch, allowing quick control and safe operation during demonstrations. The complete assembly is firmly mounted on a durable plastic base measuring 260 × 180 mm, which incorporates a standard 4 mm socket for electrical connections and earthing.

The unit is supplied with a discharging sphere mounted on an insulated rod, also fitted with a 4 mm socket, allowing the sphere to be safely earthed to the base during discharge demonstrations. Additional accessories are included to clearly visualize and demonstrate the presence and effects of electrostatic charge, making the apparatus ideal for classroom and laboratory experiments.
