  • Parboiled Rice, sometimes referred to as Steam Rice, undergoes additional hydrothermal processing - including soaking, cooking, and drying - compared to the production of conventional white rice. With a Glycemic Index (GI) of ≤55, it is classified as a low-GI food, aligning perfectly with the global trend toward healthy eating.
  • The hydrothermal treatment allows B vitamins and minerals (such as Calcium, Iron, and Phosphorus) from the bran and germ to permeate into the endosperm, resulting in significantly higher nutrient retention than standard white rice. Furthermore, the high-temperature process effectively kills insect eggs and microbes, increases grain hardness, and extends shelf life. The treated paddy develops a denser structure, which leads to a lower broken rice rate, higher milling yield, and even a higher oil extraction rate from the rice bran.
  • The raw materials for parboiling can include various rice varieties such as Basmati, Jasmine, rice, Pakistani rice, rice, rice, Long-grain rice, and Short-grain rice. Depending on the variety, the processed grains typically exhibit an attractive amber or honey-yellow color with a glossy finish.
