    The material depends on the design. 316L stainless steel is more ideal for sheets, wires, and stamped products that involve cold working. 316 stainless steel is our standard material for cast jewelry. Casting requires high temperatures (over 1300°C), so 316L is not suitable for casting. Its low-carbon advantage will be lost during high-temperature heating, which may cause defects, porosity, and unstable corrosion resistance.

    The standard PVD coating thickness for our stainless steel jewelry is 0.05 micron. For PVD gold plating on stainless steel, 0.05 micron is the industry standard and critical thickness. If the coating is thicker than this, the mismatch in thermal expansion coefficients between the coating and the stainless steel substrate will create internal stress, leading to cracking, peeling or flaking. This is a physical limitation of the PVD process, which is why thicker vacuum gold plating is not available
