Material of Briquette Making Machines

1. Applicaple raw material: different powder of biomass material such as: sawdust, wood shavings, wood wastes, branches, rice husk, peanut shell, coconut shell, begasse, sediment, cotton stem, corn stalk, corn cob, etc. After carbonization, the charcoal can be used as raw material. Besides, the carbon black, coal powder, coal dust, coke powder, brown coal powder, coal waste can be also used.

2. The inlet particle size of raw material: it must be less than 2mm.

3. The moisture of materials for briquetting must be moderate, the water content should be 12-15%.

How much pressure is needed to make sawdust briquettes? By using immense hydraulic pressure (over 5000psi) the sawdust is compressed into fire briquettes and the natural lignins (plant polymers or natural glue) in the timber hold it all together. What is the best binder for sawdust briquettes? Starch, clay, molasses and gum Arabic are common types of briquette binders. Starch is the most common binder though it is usually expensive. It doesn't have to be an food grade. In general, about 4-8% of starch is needed to make the briquettes. How do you make high quality briquettes?
