    Our diamond grinding discs are suitable for granite, marble, engineered stone (quartz), terrazzo, sandstone, limestone, and ceramic tile. They are ideal for surface grinding, edge profiling, scratch removal, and polishing preparation. Not recommended for metal or wood. We recommend an RPM of 2,000 to 4,500. Do not exceed 5,000 RPM to avoid overheating and premature wear.

    Recommended equipment and settings: Machine RPM Range Disc Size Variable-speed angle grinder 2,000 - 4,000 RPM 100mm / 4" Wet polisher / pneumatic polisher 2,500 - 3,500 RPM 100mm / 4" Floor grinder 600 - 1,500 RPM.125mm+ Critical: Do NOT exceed 4,500 RPM - overheating will damage the resin bond and shorten disc life. Use an angle grinder with variable speed control, not a fixed high-speed grinder.

    We offer a full grit range from 30# to 3000#, covering three stages: Stage Grit Range Purpose Coarse Grinding 30#, 50#, 100#, 200# Stock removal, leveling, deep scratch repair Fine Grinding 400#, 800#, 1500# Scratch refinement, surface smoothing Polishing Prep 2000#, 3000# Final finish before resin polishing Standard polishing sequence: 50#, 100#, 200#, 400#, 800#, 1500#, 3000#. Skipping grits will leave visible scratch lines.

    Wet polishing: Recommended for marble, granite, and engineered stone. Water cools the disc, reduces dust, and delivers a better finish. Standard hook & loop discs are designed for wet use. Dry polishing: Suitable for small jobs, touch-ups, and jobsites without water access. Requires dry-specific resin bond and intermittent grinding to avoid heat buildup. Our standard flexible polishing pads are optimized for wet use. Dry-specific pads are available - please specify when ordering.

    Common causes and fixes: Uneven wear: Usually caused by grinding at an angle (not flat). Keep the disc FLAT against the surface - tilt grinding concentrates wear on the edge. Glazing (diamonds stop cutting): Caused by insufficient pressure on hard stone, or using a too-hard bond. Fix: briefly grind abrasive material (concrete or brick) to expose fresh diamonds. Overheating: Running dry without cooling or exceeding max RPM. The resin bond melts and smears over diamonds.
