Frequently asked questions

It can process most biomass materials, including sawdust, wood chips, rice husk, coconut shell, palm kernel shell, bamboo, straw, peanut shell, olive pomace, and even sludge. A pre-drying or crushing step may be recommended depending on the material's moisture content and particle size. Please tell us your raw material and we will confirm the best configuration for you.

Our standard models range from 500 kg to 3,000 kg of charcoal output per hour (for example, models producing 1 t/h, 2 t/h, etc.). The actual output depends on the raw material type, moisture content, and particle size. We will recommend the right model based on your raw material and target daily production.

The carbonization process runs at 300 to 700 celsius inside the sealed rotary kiln, where the biomass undergoes pyrolysis in an oxygen free environment. The temperature, residence time, and rotation speed are all controllable through the control panel, allowing you to adjust charcoal quality for different applications, fuel charcoal, BBQ charcoal, biochar for agriculture, or further processing into activated carbon.

The yield depends on the raw material. As a general guide, sawdust and wood chips give approximately 30 to 35% charcoal yield, rice husk about 28 to 32%, and coconut shell about 30 to 35%. Exact figures should be confirmed by a trial run with your specific material, which we can arrange.

Yes, the furnace is designed to be environmentally friendly. The combustible gas (syngas) generated during carbonization is recycled back into the furnace as fuel, and the flue gas passes through a multi-stage purification system including cyclone dust removal and desulfurization towers before discharge, meeting international emission standards. No black smoke is emitted during normal operation. Optional flue gas treatment packages are available for stricter local requirements.
