Highlights at a glance

  • The Swing Check Valve is a self-actuated one-way valve that opens and closes automatically based on the flow of the medium. It is primarily installed in pipelines to prevent backflow, protect pumps and driving motors from reversing, and stop the accidental drainage of medium from containers. The valve's disc swings on a hinge pin located outside the valve seat. When the medium flows in the intended direction, the fluid pressure pushes the disc open. When the flow stops or reverses, the disc returns to the seat quickly due to its own weight and back-pressure, creating a seal. Full-Port Design: Offers minimal resistance to flow and low pressure drop across the valve. Reliable Seal: The disc fits tightly against the seat under gravity and back-pressure, ensuring zero or minimal leakage. Simple & Robust: Fewer moving parts and a compact design result in low failure rates during long-term operation. Wide Application: Suitable for large-diameter pipelines and capable of handling media with particles (depending on seat material). Extensively used in petroleum, chemical processing, power generation, metallurgy, and municipal water supply/drainage systems. Swing check valves are best suited for horizontal pipelines. If installed in a vertical pipe, the flow direction must be upward to allow gravity to assist in closing the disc.
